Right through November 4, Citizens for Strong Schools will be working hard to ensure that local citizens understand what's at stake when they go into the voting booth and cast their ballots on the one mill initiative. But we can't do it alone! There are a number of ways you can help us reach the people of our community with this important message.
Donate: This website makes it easy for you to make a contribution online to Citizens for Strong Schools. One hundred percent of your donation will be used to communicate with the public about the one mill initiative-through the newspaper, radio and TV spots, yard signs, fliers, etc.
To donate online, click: Here.
You can also send a check made out to Citizens for Strong Schools, Inc to:

Join Citizens for Strong Schools: There are no special requirements to join our team-just a desire to help us maintain high quality schools in our community! Meetings are held about twice a month, and last about an hour. If you're interested, click: Here.
Post a yard sign: We're looking for local citizens willing to post a sign in their yard indicating their support for the one mill initiative. If you're willing, please e-mail chairman Mark McGriff at
.
Distribute fliers: Alachua County Public Schools has developed a two-sided, one page informational flier about the one mill initiative that's available in pdf format on this website. Citizens for Strong Schools is also in the process of developing an advocacy flier. The more people who see these fliers, the better. Consider distributing them in your neighborhood, church or at work or sharing them through e-mail with family, friends, co-workers-anyone you think would benefit from the information.
Letters to the editor: Send a message of support for the one mill to your local newspaper.
Talk it up!: Word-of-mouth is often the most credible source of information for voters headed into the voting booth. Talk to people you know and encourage them to learn more about this important issue through this website.
Invite us to speak: If you'd like a member of Citizens for Strong Schools to speak at your civic club, neighborhood meeting or other event, please contact chairman Mark McGriff at
.
Register and Vote: Local citizens must be registered by October 6 in order to vote in the November 4th election. Make sure you, your family, friends and coworkers are registered by the deadline and make sure that you vote! Alachua County citizens can vote early beginning on October 20.
